And maybe some career highlights!
Mark is a seasoned executive and professional engineer with over 25 years of experience across the energy and natural resources sectors. He brings a unique blend of commercial, operational, and technical leadership—covering engineering and digital services, business transformation, strategic negotiation, risk governance, and financial rigour in regulated, high-stakes environments.
From 2007 to 2019, Mark served as a Business & Commercial Director at Hatch Ltd., where he built and led the commercial, pricing, and risk infrastructure for one of the firm’s largest business units. His leadership was instrumental in driving multiple phases of international growth and expansion. Mark assembled and managed global teams responsible for financials, contracts, governance, and operations on large-scale EPCM and JV projects, ensuring full alignment across executive leadership, engineering, legal, HR, and mobility. He was also recognized as a trusted facilitator and delivered executive seminars across North America, South America, and Africa on risk management, negotiation strategy, and commercial governance.
Mark later joined Accenture as a Finance Commercial Director. There, he acted as a key member of an executive project team supporting top-tier energy clients, helping guide digital transformation and operational revitalization efforts. He led a 30+ member cross-functional team—spanning IT security, HR, finance, legal, and commercial operations—on a major client program involving more than 1,000 personnel. His leadership helped to restore pricing stability, restructure key contracts, and elevate commercial performance. Mark also led the design of complex financial models and GAAP-compliant reporting tools that supported high-value negotiations. Under his direction, the team ranked in the 90th percentile for employee engagement within the broader Fortune 500 organization.
Most recently, Mark served as Director of Corporate Services at Conexus Nuclear (formerly CANDU Owners Group). Reporting directly to the CEO, he played a central role in leading the organization’s global transformation and recovery strategy. With full P&L accountability, he oversaw Procurement, IT, Governance, Risk, Human Resources, and Quality Assurance. He also led the development and rollout of a centralized shared services model that enhanced enterprise-wide performance, increased risk resilience, and improved delivery across internal and client-facing operations—all while aligning with Canadian nuclear standards (N286-12, N299.3).
A long-time advocate for leadership development, Mark has facilitated internal programs focused on negotiation, conflict resolution, and operational leadership. He has been a licensed Professional Engineer (Ontario) since 2000 and holds a Bachelor of Engineering from McMaster University.
